The Harmony Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser is a revolutionary Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser that can remove any colour or type of tattoo, whether it was done by a professional or amateur, or was the result of trauma or surgery. The unwanted tattoo is targeted by the device which emits a beam of intense light at a specific wavelength of 1064nm. This breaks down the ink into manageable particles that are then eliminated naturally by the body’s filtration system. Only the dye is targeted by the Harmony Nd:YAG laser – not the skin. As a result, there is very little risk of scarring or damage. In fact, the Harmony Nd:YAG laser is so safe and effective that even pigmented lesions can be treated!

Over the course of a short series of sessions, the targeted tattoo will gradually fade then disappear.

A rainbow of colours can be targeted. Though the Harmony Nd:YAG laser works best on darker colours such as black and blue, lighter colours such as green and yellow can also be targeted effectively, however, more sessions may be required.

Laser tattoo removal is ideal for both men and women who thought they wanted a tattoo “forever” but have now changed their mind. It may not be suitable for those who have active infections or complications in the area to be treated.

The Procedure

Before undergoing the laser tattoo removal procedure at Light Touch Laser Clinic, you will be asked to visit our patient consultant for a complimentary consultation to determine whether this will be effective for your situation.

The Harmony Nd:YAG laser will direct short bursts of light at the unwanted tattoo. Each pulse may create a sensation that is similar to a quick snap from a rubber band. Though the procedure is relatively painless and does not require anesthesia, a topical anesthesia may be applied at the onset of the session to reduce discomfort. Most who have undergone the procedure believe that getting a tattoo is actually more painful than getting rid of it with the Harmony Nd:YAG laser .

The length of the procedure varies depending on size, colour, and depth of the ink.

Recovery from a session is fairly quick. The treated area will be dressed with antibacterial ointment immediately following the procedure and the area should be kept clean to reduce the risk of infection. Pinpoint bleeding in the treated area may occasionally occur. Any scabs that form should not be picked or scratched.

How Tattoo Removal Works?

Laser tattoo removal is a safe, effective, and affordable cosmetic treatment that makes possible what many thought was impossible – the removal of an unwanted tattoo. Different wavelengths of light are absorbed by different colors of tattoo ink, causing them to shatter. Will Laser Tattoo Removal Work for me?

Tattoo removal is effective for most tattoos with some colors easier to remove than others. Black and red are the two easiest colors. Blue and green are the most difficult. Generally, older tattoos are a little bit easier to remove than new tattoos, but we’ve removed tattoos that range from 1 day to 50 years old. Most tattoo removal patients will need between 3 and 10 sessions, with 5 to 8 being most common for professional tattoos (done at a tattoo studio) and 3 to 5 normally needed for homemade tattoos.
