IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatment

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are the most popular, safe, and effective treatments for building collagen, reducing acne, and eliminating skin imperfections such as rosacea or sun damage. Using intense pulsed light technology, our team can safely eliminate skin imperfections in a controlled manner without pain. Read more to learn about our technology, treatments, and team!

IPL Machine

Intense Pulsed Light Technology

IPL treatments, commonly known as photo rejuvenation treatments effectively treat skin conditions such as: rosacea, acne, sun damage, hyper-pigmentation, dark circles under eyes, and rashes. IPL technology emits short bursts of a powerful, poly-chromatic light that penetrate below the surface of the skin in order to target melanin or blood vessels, depending on the type of treatment. The light destroys the melanin or blood vessels and thus destroys things like age spots, spider veins, and acne symptoms. IPL™ can also stimulate collagen production and therefore rejuvenate skin.

Before Your IPL Treatments

We recommend booking a free consultation with a Medical Spa Director at any of our locations in Mississauga, Markham, Milton, Oakville, or Waterloo in Canada, or Orlando, Florida in USA. During a consultation, you will discuss your skincare goals with your practitioner, as well as discuss the technology that we use, any health concerns that you may have, and the like. Please be mindful that there are contraindications for IPL treatments that you’ll need to make our staff members aware of should they apply to you. For instance, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have blood disorders, severe reactions to histamines, vitiligo, or have had procedures such as chemical peels recently. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding this treatment is not appropriate for you at this time. We require that you wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding to resume treatments.

During Your IPL Treatments

During your treatment, you will be required to wear protective eye-wear. Your practitioner will put a clear ultrasound gel on the affected area. She will adjust the settings, and begin to slowly glide the machine head over the affected area. You may feel a warming sensation, or a sensation that is similar to a snap of a rubber band. IPL treatments are relatively painless, however, everyone’s pain tolerance level is different. Should you experience any pain or severe discomfort, be sure to tell your practitioner immediately. She can adjust the levels according to your needs.

After Your IPL Treatments

After your treatment you may experience redness or slight swelling of the area. This is normal and should dissipate within one to three days. We encourage you to book a complimentary follow-up appointment to ensure your satisfaction. Multiple treatments may be required for optimal results.
