What Are Laser Acne Treatments?
Laser acne treatments are the fastest way to deal with scars and hyper-pigmentation left behind when acne heals, and can also be beneficial for inflammatory acne. Pixel® technology is the Gold Standard in scar removal. Pixel® treatments are used to resurface the skin and remove any damaged skin cells. Fractional, non-ablative resurfacing treatments are the safest, most effective approach to improving skin complexion and removing acne scars on any area of the body. The number of treatments needed depends on the severity of the skin condition.
How Does Scar Removal Work?
Laser pulses are emitted as the Pixel® head is guided across your skin. The hand piece will accurately deliver a single row of seven pixels per millimeter. Pixel® technology creates thousands of microscopic perforations of the treated area. This technology is very accurate so you can be sure that the surrounding skin will not be affected. The light emissions pass through the dermis with thermal channels, and as these tiny perforations begin to heal, new collagen production will be naturally stimulated. In turn, any acne scars that you had previously will begin to fade and you will see a brightening of your skin and improved texture.
What makes Pixel® the best treatment method?
Pixel® is one of the most effective acne and scar treatment methods in the industry, as it uses light and a slight heating of the skin to kill of the acne P virus and stimulate new collagen production. When our skin is infected, often there is limited collagen production leaving your skin with less elasticity, more dry, and with less volume. As a result of Pixel® treatments, you’ll find your skin acne-free, scar-free, and also rejuvenated looking.
Additionally, there is less down time with Pixel® treatments than many other acne and scar treatments available. Since there is minimal spacing between the pixels, the treatment area remains contained and the skin in the surrounding areas will be left undamaged, thereby improving results. Down time is usually only from 1-3 days.
How long do results last (Is it really permanent?)
Results are long-lasting, and often permanent, however like anything else in life, there are no guarantees. For the most part, our clients have seen results that last many years. With that being said, acne can always return and thus additional treatments will be needed to maintain best results.
Is everyone the same?
No, everyone is not the same. Everyone has a different skin type, complexion, and level of skin health. There are other factors that make results vary such as age and hormonal levels as well. These differences will determine how many treatments will be needed for the best results. It is best to book an appointment for a free consultation with one of our friendly and professional staff members to determine whether a Pixel® acne treatment or a course of IPL acne treatments would be best for you.
Some individuals with less severe acne would benefit from IPL treatments (intense pulsed light) treatments instead of Pixel®. Again, this really all depends on your individual skin health!
