Maintain a Youthful, Vibrant Look with Botox® in Markham

Maintain a Youthful, Vibrant Look with Botox®

Many men and women alike begin to see signs of aging in their mid to late twenties, and well into their thirties. Markham residents often visit LightTouch Med Spa for Botox® treatments, as it is an effective way to treat and prevent signs of aging. The most common signs of aging are: fine lines around the mouth, crow’s feet, fine lines between the brows and on the forehead, and of course, the neck. Our nurse injector is highly experienced and can assist you in determining whether this type of treatment is the most appropriate treatment for you, along with the areas that would be most beneficial to have treated based on your needs, skin type, and age.

How long does it take to see effects?

Most of our clients find that it can take between three to seven days to see full results, however our clients have been extremely happy with the effects.

How long does Botox® last?

Results typically last 3-4 months. However, after multiple treatments, the body metabolizes it slower and it can last upwards of 6 months.

Alternate Uses & Benefits

Not only is this type of treatment effective at treating signs of aging, but it is becoming increasingly popular for treating chronic migraines and symptoms of depression. Recently, studies have begun to draw correlations between treatments and effectively reducing depression, as it has been shown that when one looks in the mirror, seeing a more youthful and happier-looking reflection can increase and uplift your mood. As your mood enhances, this creates a greater sense of wellbeing, and extends to other areas of your life as well.

What Is Botox®?

Onabotulinum toxin A, also known as Botox®, is an injectable cosmetic acquired by Allergan that was developed for cosmetic and therapeutic uses. It is an FDA approved liquid that is injected into the skin by a nurse practitioner or doctor. Onabotulinum toxin A should only be injected into certain areas of the body, such as: the forehead, between the brows, nasal labial folds, around the mouth, and to treat migraines. It can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) so can be used under the arms, in the hands, and the feet. This is not a permanent treatment and will need to be used approximately every 3-4 months to maintain optimal results.

Why It’s Important to Do Your Research

Many individuals find that they want to take better care of their skin as they age. With that being said, we strongly recommend doing your research before you make the leap into the world of injectables. While injectables are a great way to maintain a youthful look, enhance your appearance, and treat migraines or hyperhidrosis, there are side-effects and risks that should be considered. It is important to work with a highly trained nurse injector when considering injectables, and transparency is something that we offer at LightTouch Med Spa. We understand that you are putting trust in us, and that is why we offer the utmost care when treating you. During a consultation, we encourage you to ask our nurse injectors all the questions that you need to in order to gain a firm understanding of the treatment you are about to receive. We also provide before and aftercare forms that should be read upon arrival and receiving treatments.

Furthermore, we highly recommend knowing any and all allergies that you may have before receiving this type of treatment. While it is uncommon, there are individuals who have allergic reactions to Onabotulinum toxin A.

Who is it for?

A common misconception is that this type of treatment is for women only, however many men use it as well. Any individual who is over the age of 18 and looking to improve or reverse signs of aging, eliminate hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), treat migraines, and reduce symptoms of depression can consider this form of treatment.
