Sun Damage Treatment Orlando

Treating Sun Damage in Orlando

Staying out of the sun can be a tough feat in Orlando. That’s why it’s important to talk about sun damage and prevention. Cosmetics and skincare are what we do best, and we’ve got you covered when it comes to cosmetic treatments to help you feel great in your skin!

What treatments are available at LightTouch Med Spa™ for sun damage?

IPL™ Treatments are one of the most effective treatments for skin pigmentation caused by sun damage. Skin pigmentation affects people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and skin types.

What is skin pigmentation? Skin pigmentation occurs when the sun becomes noticeably discoloured (often darker, but sometimes lighter, too) and most commonly occurs on the hands, face, decolletage, arms, and legs. Our goal at LightTouch Med Spa™ is to help you achieve healthy-looking skin using our cutting-edge technology.

What technology do we use?

IPL™ treatments effectively treat sun damage. Intense pulsed light technology by Alma Lasers™ emits short bursts of a powerful, polychromatic light that penetrate below the surface of the skin in order to target melanin. The light destroys the melanin and therefore destroys age spots and hyperpigmentation.

How to prevent sun damage

As it’s difficult to avoid the beach in Orlando, we decided we’d put together a few tips and tricks to help you avoid sun damage.

  • Wear a good sunscreen
  • Find a shady spot
  • Wear a sun hat
  • Only go out before and after peak sun hours
  • Wear protective clothing
  • Avoid tanning salons!

Are IPL™ treatments painful?

Typically, no. Most clients find IPL™ treatments to be relatively painless. Of course, if you are very sensitive, you may experience some slight discomfort. We offer numbing agents as needed.

Are sun damage treatments for everyone?

There are some important contraindications that should be considered before having sun damage treatments. For example:

  • Recent sun exposure and/or sunburn
  • If you plan to be in direct sunlight after your treatment
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Open lesions
  • Melanoma
  • Keloid formation
